A surgical oncologist for 40 years, Dr. Rajaraman Ramamurthy is one of the bests in the country. After completing his MBBS from University of Madras in 1982, he went on to complete his MS from Thanjavur Medical College, Tamil Nadu in 1985 and MCh from University of Madras in 1988. He is known for his impeccable precision in Robotic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Cytoreductive Surgery and HIPEC and extensive experience in treating a wide range of cancers like Breast cancer, Soft tissue and bone cancer, Gastrointestinal cancers, Hepatocellular Carcinoma Liver cancer, and Oral cancer, and more. He has served as the Professor of Surgical Oncology – Kilpauk Medical College & Government Hospital and is now working as a Senior Consultant in Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai. He was instrumental in introducing the M. Ch (Surgical Oncology) course to the Tamil Nadu Government for the first time in the year 2000. He is a tutor and guide to postgraduate Surgical Oncology students and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals, both nationally and internationally.
